winKoneR "... completing all achievements is really a epic and awesome journey ..."Click to read complete nominationI would nominate Witcher 3 for most satisfying because completing all achievements is really a epic and awesome journey. If you want to get all Witcher 3 achievements in one playtrough, you have to start on hardest difficulty, which is really challenging at first but managable and very much enjoyable later and it plays really differently. There are many collectibles and quests you need to do and with only one missable achievement, it may have the most satisfying achievement set of 2015. But I have to add that I haven't got to play Bloodborne yet :)

It's long and tedious for average player but great checklist of things to do for fellow achievement hunter.

Grand Theft Auto 5
Close Shave Complete all Under the Bridge and Knife Flight challenges.
and
Show Off Complete all Stunt Jumps.
For the following reasons:
1) It takes a reasonable ammount of time to complete them, as achievements should be somehow 'difficult' and it should be an 'achievement'. 2) It's 100% optional whether you want to go for ALL of the bridges / stunt jumps ~ to '100%' the game, you only need to do a certain ammount of them. This makes it perfect for those OCD-type achievement hunters that don't want anything less than a REAL 100%. 3) It leaves players furious not figuring out which one they have missed ~ making the quitters quit earlier and leaving only the die-hards to go for it. 4) There are so many guides about these achievements on the internet, which means it's popular as well.
5) To summarize and the final most important point: Satisfaction. So in short: It's hard, long, optional yet extremely satisfying when you finally completed the task.
The whole achievement set includes online as well and you really have to know the game through and through to be able to get 100% in this game.

brbcn "... Every time you earn an achievement it feels as though you have achieved. Isn't that how it's supposed to be? ..."Click to read complete nominationCrypt of the Necrodancer is an indie gem from the sparsely populated rythm-roguelite genre. While it has received (and deserves) overwhelmingly positive reviews and critical acclaim, I'd like to take this opportunity to address its achievements.
It might take a couple of attempts to get into the core mechanics, and once you get the hang of it you're frequently presented with new monsters, bosses, weapons and power-ups. The roguelite label means you're earning permanent upgrades as you die - a neat little feature similar to Rogue Legacy. You start over, stronger, strong enough to earn your first couple of achievements beating the zones.
Every time you earn an achievement it feels as though you have achieved. Isn't that how it's supposed to be? Well, it doesn't feel random and it doesn't feel like a chore, it's simply difficult and satisfying. I played the game and felt like I actually beat something, that I made it through and did a fairly good job.
Then I realised that I hadn't even started the real challenge.. that all those upgrades meant nothing.
Finishing the game and playing through all the content was just the tip of the iceberg as it quickly turned into an unforgiving roguelike. The playable characters are so vastly different, and the fast-paced rythmic dungeon crawling promises hours of frustrating fun. I am a little sad that I won't be able to 100% this game because the final pieces are too crazy for me, I'm still glad they include such trophies for the real hardcore players. Something for the showcase!
CotN is strangely brilliant. If you've never played it, I would recommend grabbing it right away on Steam!

Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void

PhantasyReal "... in terms of achievements for someone really loving the RTS Genre it is the only game that can feature a challenge ..."Click to read complete nominationThe reason would be simple. I had more fun with other games, but in terms of achievements for someone really loving the RTS Genre it is the only game that can feature a challenge that is much more difficult than the highest difficulty brutal and in an interesting way. It is not a senseless grind with killing 100 or 1000 of specific enemies or multiplayer opponents. Those annoying achievements were already introduced in Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm. Legacy of the Void featured challenges in the campaign that let you go out of the way, explore the map, do more than just the simple objective and in a faster time. The mastery achievements for the campaign take their time and a lot of planning ahead. Without properly chosen skills and units before trying to obtain one of those achievements it is sometimes not even possible to accomplish it or at least not possible without reloading for the nth time which should automatically show the player a wrong approach. Still it is possible to always use various different strategies that lead to victory with air or ground unit compositions making the achievements and their difficulty balanced.

Her Story

Nominated by:
Proto "... an achievement each, and those are crowning moments of watching. ..."Click to read complete nominationI want to nominate "Her Story". Now the achievements are by far not difficult to get, but to appreciate them - or rather two of them - I must dig onto the game we talk about.
The game is a story about a murder that took place two decades ago, told in a series of FMV movies from a police interrogation. You can see and hear the accused woman but not the prosecution or the police, as those files have been lost.
The story is captivating but two videos stand out . Both of them give an achievement each, and those are crowning moments of watching.
Because of the fragmented database, you can not watch the videos in order but must search for tags, which are automatically generated from all the words spoken in the video. Because of the broken database, you can however only find the first five videos with that specific tag. So you have a story that unwraps in a non-linear way. Since you can save videos to watch later, eventually you can get the complete collection - or you just watch them outside the game after you finished it. But even then, .
So the reason why I nominate this game is not because of the achievements being any difficult or even unusual, but because of the game itself being a great experience, one that takes 3 to 6 hours but then keeps you thinking about it. The achievements just are a nice touch.
I bought Her Story for the release price and I did not regret it. So this is my nomination for the best achievement game 2015. Even although Ys: The Ark of Napishtim, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re:Birth 3, Final Fantasy V and other masterpieces came to PC in 2015, I feel that the game itself should be original, not just a re-release, and this game is one original one. So original that - of course - some people complained about the lack of actual gameplay. Even I don't know if it really qualifies as a game, so on my review I called it a kinetic video novel. It is a FMV game done right. Yes, maybe it would have worked as a movie, but the way it is presented in makes it an interesting experience, .
On the con side is that it has as good as no replayability (regarding playing through it again after you saw everything once) and that compared to other games it is short and has pretty much no real gameplay.
Killadare "... has a good wide spectrum of difficulty on its achievements ..."Click to read complete nominationI'd like to nominate Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide
This game has a good wide spectrum of difficulty on its achievements. There are some easy pickings. There are some that encourages you to explore more of the game. Some are very difficult and some are mostly luck.
The only pure grind achievement has also a strong skill factor as well executed rounds give more progression. None of the achievements asks you to play in an a bad way - which is good because that would be decremental to the online cooperative experience.
That, in combination with the game being a blast to play makes it the best achievement game of 2015 for me.
